What We Believe

St Brigid's is an Anglican evangelical church. Being true to our Anglican heritage means we believe the Bible is the word of God. We prioritise singing it, praying it, reading it and teaching it in our services.

The Bible tells us everything we need to know and do to be saved. Being saved means being rescued by God from

guilt, shame, sin, death, and hell

and instead receiving

forgiveness, power to change, and a place in God's family forever.

All this was made possible by Jesus. He is the eternal Son of God who 2000 years ago came into the world as a human being. He lived a perfect life; died a sacrifical death on a cross for our sins; defeated death by walking out of his tomb; ascended to heaven to be crowned Lord of the world; and poured out his Holy Spirit into the hearts of his people.

He will return to raise the dead, judge the earth, gather his people, and establish his global and everlasting kingdom.

The Bible tells us that when anyone believes in this Jesus and asks him to save them, he will. And so we want everyone to hear this good news, especially in our local area of Glengormley and Mallusk.

Our Mission & Priorities

St Brigid’s exists to worship God — Father, Son and Holy Spirit — and to spread the good news of salvation through faith in Jesus. We want to see lives transformed as more people put their trust in Jesus, grow to maturity, serve with love and persevere to the end.

To fulfill this mission we have 3 priorities: Sowing. Growing. Keeping Going.

Sowing. We want everyone in our parish of Mallusk and Glengormley to hear the good news of salvation through faith in Jesus. That means putting time and energy into building connections with the community and speaking to our friends and neighbours about Jesus.

Growing. We want to support every individual to grow into spiritual maturity, becoming increasingly like Jesus in character and putting to good use the gifts he has given us.

Keeping Going. Jesus taught us to love one another and we aim to provide loving care to all members of our church family when life gets tough. We also want to extend that love beyond our number to those who live around us.

'We proclaim Christ, warning every person and teaching every person, so that we may present every person fully mature in Christ'

Colossians 1.28
