Jacob Mercer Rector

Jacob studied theology at Oxford University (Wycliffe Hall) and was ordained in the Church of England in 2018. He has previously worked at churches in Cambridge, Wimbledon and Bermondsey and has completed the Cornhill Training Course in London. He came to St Brigid's in June 2022. Jacob is married to Rebecca and they have four young children. 

"My role is to help people find Jesus and discover the new life he offers. In practice that involves connecting with the local community, leading school assemblies, teaching the Bible on Sunday mornings, running youth events, helping children to have fun and explore faith for themselves, and offering spiritual support for people who are ill or bereaved. Rob Harrison Lay Minister

After studying Music at university, Rob spent two years working for a church in Oxford where he completed the South Central Gospel Partnership's Ministry Training Course. Before coming to St Brigid's, he worked for Scripture Union NI helping to oversee their summer camps. He also has experience in town planning and schools outreach. Rob is involved in everything from Sunday School to youth to young adults ministry and outreach.
